AIGENERATEDBULLSHIT.COM is an independent satirical tool that analyses text for corporate bullshit content. We are not affiliated with any corporation, political party, or organisation whose communications we may or may not find hilarious.

We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate the service:

• Submitted text — The text you paste into the analyser. This is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) for scoring and is not stored in full unless you explicitly opt in to the leaderboard. Only the first 100 characters are retained for shared result display.
• BS scores and metadata — The analysis results (overall score, category scores, grade) are stored to power caching and shared result URLs.
• Hashed IP address — Your IP address is hashed (converted to an irreversible code) and used solely for rate limiting to prevent abuse. The raw IP address is never stored.
• Nickname (optional) — If you opt in to the leaderboard and provide a nickname, it is stored alongside your anonymised result. This is entirely voluntary.
• Anonymised analytics — We use privacy-friendly analytics (Plausible) that does not use cookies and does not collect personal data. Only aggregate statistics are recorded.

We do not collect: email addresses, names, location data, device identifiers, cookies, or any other personal information.

• To generate your BS score— Your submitted text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this processing. See anthropic.com/privacy.
• To cache results — A hash of your submitted text is stored so repeat submissions return instantly without additional AI processing cost.
• To provide shareable result URLs — Each analysis generates a unique short URL that you can share. The result excerpt stored for this purpose contains only the first 100 characters of your submission.
• To power the leaderboard — Only if you explicitly tick the leaderboard consent checkbox. You control this entirely.
• To prevent abuse — Your hashed IP address is used to enforce a limit of 10 analyses per hour. This data is stored in Redis and automatically expires after one hour.

For users in the European Economic Area, we process your data under the following legal bases:

• Legitimate interests — Hashed IP rate limiting to prevent service abuse. Processing is minimal and proportionate.
• Performance of a service — Scoring and caching your submitted text to deliver the analysis you requested.
• Consent — Leaderboard opt-in, nickname storage, and excerpt display on the public leaderboard. Consent is freely given, specific, and can be withdrawn by contacting us.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data with third parties. The only data sharing that occurs is:

• Anthropic— Your submitted text is processed by Anthropic's Claude API to generate scores. Anthropic acts as a data processor under their API terms.
• Supabase — Our database provider stores anonymised scores and hashes. Supabase is GDPR-compliant and acts as a data processor.
• Upstash — Our Redis provider stores hashed IP addresses for rate limiting only. Data expires automatically after one hour.
• Vercel— Our hosting provider processes requests. Vercel's infrastructure is GDPR-compliant.
• Plausible — Our privacy-friendly analytics provider. No personal data is shared. No cookies are used.

We will never share data with law enforcement unless legally compelled to do so and will notify affected users where legally permitted.

• Analysis results and hashes — Stored for 90 days to support shared result URLs. Automatically deleted thereafter.
• Leaderboard submissions — Retained until you request deletion. Contact us at privacy@aigeneratedbullshit.com to withdraw consent and have your submission removed.
• Hashed IP rate limit data — Expires automatically after one hour. Not retained beyond this window.
• Analytics data — Aggregate only, retained indefinitely. No personal data is included.

Under GDPR and equivalent legislation you have the right to:

• Access — Request a copy of data we hold about you
• Rectification — Correct inaccurate data
• Erasure — Request deletion of your data
• Restriction — Limit how we process your data
• Portability — Receive your data in a portable format
• Objection — Object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Withdraw consent — For any consent-based processing at any time

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority if you believe we have not handled your data correctly.

We do not use cookies. No tracking cookies, session cookies, or third-party advertising cookies are deployed on this site. You will not see a cookie consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.

Our analytics provider (Plausible) is cookieless by design. Your browser settings require no adjustment to use this site privately.

This service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has submitted data through our service please contact us for immediate deletion.

We may update this policy when our data practices change. The “last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

We will not retroactively change how previously collected data is used without explicit consent where required by law.
